How we approach Troy projects.
The newer housing stock here means plywood subfloors and predictable framing, so projects move quickly from decision to installation. Most of our Troy work replaces worn carpet and dated strip flooring with hardwood or quality engineered product run continuously through the main floor, which suits these open plans.
Kitchens and baths get porcelain set over uncoupling membrane, and mudrooms, the hardest-working floor in a Troy house, get tile chosen for grit and salt with heated systems where the family wants winter mornings softened. We build the floor for how Michigan actually treats it.
Because many of these houses are mid-renovation when we arrive, we coordinate flooring with the larger scope: heights planned so new hardwood meets existing stairs correctly, transitions minimized as walls come out, and installation sequenced after the dusty trades finish. The floor is the last thing done and the first thing seen.
