How we approach Detroit projects.
The brick colonials and bungalows in Detroit's neighborhoods were usually built with one bathroom, and it was small. Behind the tile you often find galvanized supply lines at the end of their life and a drain stack with a century of service on it. We plan for that from day one so the project doesn't stall when the walls open up.
Most of our Detroit bathroom work falls into two camps: rebuilding the main bath with modern waterproofing, tile, and ventilation, or carving out a second bath so a one-bath house finally works for a family. We handle city permits and inspections on every job.
Materials matter more in Detroit's masonry houses than almost anywhere else. Plaster walls, thick tile beds, and rock-solid framing reward tile and stone chosen to match their permanence, and we install to that standard. Heated floors have become the most requested upgrade here, and in a brick house that holds the cold, they earn their keep every winter.
